It's finally happening.
You might remember back in July when we covered our first two cannabis events up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was the start of something beautiful. The events were very different, but equally awesome in their own ways. Last week, NM Canna Events and Citi Rhythms put on the Harvest Space Jam - and I can't wait to show you what it was like there.
Downtown Albuquerque was buzzing while various artists set up for the ABQ Artwalk off Central.
If you aren't familiar with the Artwalk, it's 100% worth checking out. Artists from all over the city set up and showcase their creativity in a market-like feel that spans several blocks. There were so many vibrant people.
The Harvest Space Jam was in a prime location on a corner spot off Central.
Music (and smoke) poured out the garage door and beckoned passersby to come check it out.
The vibe was electric and depending on when you walked in, you were greeted with amazing music from The Riddims, BurqueSol, and Revíva. The haze of the venue mixed with the neon lights filled your senses. The bands brought their energy and really made the event unforgettable.
I'm not going to lie. It still felt a little taboo. People were very open and lighting up, meanwhile cops are walking through the Artwalk patrolling, knowing full well what's going on. This still feels like a bit of history in the making.
The most beautiful thing about these events are the people.
This is a market, that until recently, was underground. It is absolutely amazing being able to walk into this event and connect with people that have been perfecting their craft. It feels so right that they finally have a space where they are free to speak about it openly, to help others, and to share their passion with a captive audience. The vibe was so positive and welcoming and there was so much laughter and genuine conversations happening.
